The first artist on Friday that I was super psyched to see was Liars, who unfortunately cancelled last minute—rumor has it their travel plans went awry (they missed their plane?). The Sasquatch phone app marked it off as "cancelled" shortly after a roadie tried to buy some time for the band to get there.

By the time that Die Antwoord played, everyone seemed faded from too much sun, day-drinking, and the most amazing time at OutKast; I almost felt bad when there was only a lazy shuffle heading over to watch the South African superstars. The duo emerged in masks and matching, extremely baggy yellow sweatsuits to play their catchy, weirdo rap/zef rock. Having recently attended a drag competition where the judges criticized a contestant for not having a good enough "reveal" as they slipped out of their clothing, I have to say Die Antwoord had a pretty killer reveal, slowly shedding layers and ending up in their underwear.

OVERHEARD IN THE CROWD:
"I totally don't mind when hot bros take their shirts off. The male gaze is strong here."

"They sound like fucking alvin and the chipmunks"

"THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME, I'M GONNA ELBOW UP TO THE FRONT!"

"This is disgusting," said the girl in front of me. "If they don't play 'Evil Boy' next, I am going back to the campsite."

They did not play "Evil Boy" next, but they DID play their amazing new song "Pitbull Terrier," dogging on Pitbull.
(Report: Growing Number Of Americans Forced To Make Ends Meet By Collaborating On Song With Pitbull) It made me laugh and dance at the same time, and I do appreciate their bold grudgey move against pop nemesis— such as their drama with rejecting the offer to go on tour with Lady Gaga.
