@3: I am also there lot (as in pretty much every weekday). I frequently see foot officers and almost always see bike officers. It's not uncommon to see three or four officers just hanging in the middle of of the 1500 block of 3rd. Odd that our perceptions would be so different. And I'm not trying to ignore the clusterfuck of craziness that that block routinely is.
@3 Hunh? There are multiple cop cars parked on 3rd between Pine and Pike every single night of the week and have been for a long time. I see cops on foot or on bike half the time I'm downtown.
Has anyone here been aggressively hassled by these supposedly violent drug dealers on multiple occasions? It seems pretty obvious this is just a way of cleaning up "unsafe" feeling things that never concerned the people who feel unsafe in the first place. It's a way of making the poverty and homelessness this city promotes invisible. Out of sight, out of mind.
