Probably worth pointing out the massive satellite-based internet venture he's building in Seattle that will pay for his space program. You know, because journalism.
That said, thanks for the piece. I'll make sure to be careful near bushes from Texas.
I'm very pro-science, and I love Star Trek. But I feel that we should clean up our act here on Earth before we try imposing ourselves on other planets.
@19: If you paid attention, you might have known that the Space Shuttle (and the Saturn V) used liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen as well. Old hat, albeit a well-executed old hat. There are also good reasons for using hydrogen as a fuel in rockets that don't apply to automotive transportation or the energy grid.

What's with the assumption that it's a quill pen?
It makes more sense for it to just be a feather.
(You know... as a flight reference?)
Possibly, it's a nod to Alan Shepard, first United Statesian in space?
Why can't we do both?
The rocked used a "liquid hydrogen, liquid oxygen BE-3 engine" that "worked flawlessly".
Nice to see liquid fueled rockets (making a comeback?).
Blue Origin had some interesting words to say previously about hydrogen as a fuel.
I just wonder if he's got enough of it over in Kent Valley (their HQ is on 212th Street) to set up a station for Mirai and Tuscon FCEVs.
