I went to Northwest Folklife this past weekend with a tiny, excellent human named Babette. She's 4 years old. Oops, sorry—I mean, FOUR AND A HALF YEARS OLD. Here's what she had to say about the fashion and the people we saw...
"They look nice. I think she's holding Toothless. Toothless the Dragon. He's cute." Kelly O
"I don't like him! He looks scary... MOM!" Kelly O
"I like it. I have a fuzzy hat at home. It's an owl." Kelly O
"Ninja Turtles! The red one is my favorite. Raphael." Kelly O
"No. I don't like blue lips. Blue lips look funny." Kelly O
"I NEVER saw a hat like thaaaa-aaat!" Kelly O
"I think she's just scribbling lines on her arm? I don't know." Kelly O
"Violet and indigo are my favorite colors in the rainbow." Kelly O
"That looks pokey. He looks like a dinosaur!" Kelly O
"He's a funny clown. Maybe he's sad." Kelly O
"They're friends! She has sparkles on her eyes. I like that." Kelly O
"Hey, she copied my hair! Green!" Kelly O
Special thanks to Jenni and Babette (who's going to be five soon, in September!) Kelly O
