Can't agree more.. doesn't it make you a little afraid to see what all these married people end up doing? Maybe marriage is what's making people so F'd up.

Single is the way to go. ha

"...having a chain around his leg corroborated his basic statement that he was being held against his will."

The "No Shit!" statement of the day.

4
so now "every child deserves..." will be called "today in traditional marriage?"

Medved: Tell us about santorum, Dan.

Savage: Well, he was a conservative bigot and homophobe ...

Medved: No, not the senator you smearmed out of office, but the other smear. Lower-case santorum, the stuff you discussed at length on your blog.

Savage: Um ...

Medved: Have you discussed santorum with your son, Dan? Does he read your blog?

Savage: Um ...

Medved: Your tiny tot must be so proud, proud to have such an excellent role model for a, um ... And proud to have two fit parents, especially after his breeder parents basically dropped the ball.

Savage: Yeah.

Medved: Home school your ten-year-old, Dan? Slog lesson plans? Tell him about santorum before bedtime? Clean up unsightly spills?

I said this earlier, but I'll say it again! You should make these posts a regularity. "Every Husband Deserves a Wife, Every Wife a Husband."
7
At least you and your boyfriend haven't been chained up for a year. Illuminating your plight by setting it beside this kid's ordeal is like illuminating a lighting bug by putting it beside a spotlight.
8
isn't it in poor taste to use this boy's tragedy to further *any* agenda -- even one that the majority of us sloggers support?
9
@6 I think they already are regular, except they're usually called "every child deserves a mother and a father."
10
Every child deserves access to shelter, food and a kind word.
11
And no, it aint right

Yah! My home town makes the new yet again
Glad I got the hell out of dogde
Tracy: where young people go to die or be put into slavery.

How dare you think of yourself as deserving more rights than a convicted rapist. ; >

You know what? They could stay legally married if they didn't do any of those things too. I don't get this line of argument. So what? The point is that they can get legally married. And you can't. It ain't right that they can get legally married. ... and ride down the street hootin' and hollerin'. Has nothing to do with all the awful things they can do in a married state. Cuz you wouldn't do them even if you *could* get married. Right? Right??

You're sounding kinda whiney. The point is that you can't get legally married to the person you love (not that marriage is about love, but okay. Actually, put it that way I don't know why any people *want* to get married). Focus. The point is that you can't get married to the person you want to be legally bound to. Okay, love, even though that's a ridiculous word to use in conjunction with being able to get married at 2 am in an Elvis chapel.
15
And worse, they'll probably have more children to torture.

Well...no. The point is the stated rational behind why he (and I ) can't is because it would be such a tragedy for children if we were allowed to. Because it would disrupt so many heterosexual households. Because children need a mother and a father. Because to allow children to grow up in a world where same sex couples can get married would be to do them irreparable harm. Because the only reason gays want to get married is so they can destroy the family. You must be new to the culture war.

I appreciate that some people here are obviously getting sick of seeing these posts from Dan. Consider how fortunate you are, that he's not posting everything he could. Every day's news brings a new round, a fresh batch, of horror stories from the sanctity of marriage. And yet it is gay people who are destroying it. And endangering children. We want to destroy their safe and secure homes. Because we are selfish. Because we care more about satisfying our own greedy desires, then we care about the lives of children. Well...take a look at how well the heterosexual majority cares about the lives of children. Go ahead. And then keep telling us that homosexuality is a threat to the welfare of children, and the proof of that is same sex couples want to get married.

Be nice if people would stop scapegoating us for the problems in their own backyard. But until then...

But that's because they're undoubtably real Christians.

Please wait...
