Don't act accosted for Bainbridge. Remember the discovery of drug rings in the late 90s? Bad stuff does make it across the bridge / ferry. It might just for a second corrupt the perfect fast food-less, cute town suburbs. We can hack it!
I'll betcha a dollar that the cops used their recent agreement with Craigs List to get the info they needed to make the bust. I honestly don't understand why so many escorts continue to use a site that works openly with law enforcement to advertise their services when there are so many other options like www.naughtyreviews.com, and www.mpreview.com that they could use to avoid being busted.
"The cops went after the prostitutes, of course, and not the johns."
What do you mean by "of course"? Are you suggesting that johns don't get ever busted? Bullshit. The SPD has conducted plenty of stings on Auroroa using undercover female cops as bate.
Men are just as much victims of our stupid anti-prostitution laws as women.
@14 By your logic, a person who gets busted for attempting to rob someone, or buy heroin, or beat a child would be a 'victim' of the law. Hum...I find that approach very fascinating. Deeply flawed, but fascinating...
@15: The statement clearly is about a specific law that Seandr considers unjust. I think you are mistaken to suggest that the statement applies to all laws.
Where are we just going to legalize Prostitution? I mean really. Legalize it, tax it, require health check ups is a hell of lot better than wasting time and money investigating this shit. It has been around since the beginning of time and you're not going to stop it now. Control it, move on, leave the adults alone. Oh, and pretty much my feeling about pot too.
@17 That fact was not lost on me. However, if you change the description of what a victim is to include willing participants, it opens the door for all kinds of misuse. It reeks of the same co-opting BS that we (rightfully) slam Christian conservative groups for using.
Throwing a pity party for people actively engaging in behavior that is illegal doesn't really do anything to change the fact that illegal activity has consequences. I understand and support the sex workers who stand behind their profession and work to make changes to the attitudes and laws concerning their profession. However, I can honestly say that I have never heard of a group of Johns (not Pimps) who were politically active and out in the open about their support of changes to these laws. Please, correct me if I am wrong here.
This is all ridiculous. They aren't hurting anyone. The cops are going after craigslist and trying to get them to crack down on the erotic ads, but they will just go to other sites like http://fairplayreviews.com
I didn't just read this in the SLOG, did I? Was I somehow redirected to Andy Rooney's homepage, or something?

Uhhhh.....Huh? "Freak out" vs. "a good laugh"? Not sure I follow. Surely, my genteel country lady, you know few of us here understand rube-talk.
