"Roe v. Wade is settled law"

Respect for Human Right to Life FAIL
2
Ms. Wagner, you are so right that the Dems should be using these hearings-with-a-forgone-conclusion to attack the moldy shibboleth of "judicial activism." So, keep at that one. But really, if you want to bring an element of balance and fairness to your reportage, you could do no better than with noted legal and Congressional scholar Glenn Beck. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/13…
3
@1 so you oppose the death penalty and all forms of war, yes?
4
3
Murders and Enemies of Freedom forfeit
their Right to Life.
5
4
MurderERs
6
@4: if you can forfeit it, it's not a right.
7
@4 If you murder a murderer, that still makes you a murderer. "Enemies of Freedom" is a dubious and arbitrary term. "Right to Life" advocacy FAIL.
8
Virtually none of the people killed by wars over the years were "Enemies of Freedom". Many of them weren't even combatants.
9
7
If society executes a murderer it is not murder.
If society fails to punish murderers proportionally to the severity of their crime it becomes an accesory after the fact to the murder.
What is a just penalty to exact for the taking of an innocent life? how much is an innocent life worth?
The life of the murderer is not enough but is the most we can do.

America's military makes extraordinay efforts to spare innocent lives.
Our current enemy hides among civilians and the blame for innocent deaths lies with them.

One of the first things you should learn in life is who the good guys are and who the bad guys are.
Liberals usually fail at that.

@ 9

You have a severely warped sense of justice.

and @10

you must be in the military to be THAT brain washed.
12
I thought we were talking about Roe versus Wade?

And why does it reek of red herring in here?
13
Unlike Roberts, Sotomayor is not a whackjob.

Our brave and intrepid anonymous commenter has decided to explain morality to us in black and white terms. See, conservatives haven't gotten the news yet that A: a life for a life is not actually justice, it's just revenge, B: innocent people are convicted of murder, ergo the death penalty is dangerously prone to error, and C: take all the precautions you want, if you're opposed to innocent life being taken in all cases, you gotta oppose the taking of innocent life. Period. You don't get to act manly when it's Iraqi civilians being killed, but delicately wave your petticoats about when it's a fetus.

This brain-damaged argument ("come out and fight like a man, you faggots!") has been made since Vietnam -- actually, since the French and Indian War in 1754 -- and it's just as stupid now as it was then. The reason they "hide among civilians" isn't because they are cowardly girlie men, it's because they're TRYING TO WIN. If they marched out into open battle (with bright red coats on?), they'd be cut down instantly. They can't match us for firepower and technology. They know it, we know it. That's the whole point of modern warfare.

Blockheads like you think everything in the world is a masculinity contest, but your testosterone has poisoned you. Left to your own devices, soldiers like you will lose EVERY SINGLE TIME to your smarter opponents, who lack the brute force you can bring but outmatch you on brains. Fortunately, you're not on your own; you have commanding officers who know what clues look like.

Now, go take a look at the Mexican War of 1848 and come talk to me about enemies of freedom.

15
ah..
Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna!
A truer Friend of Liberty never breathed!!
17
15
We don't mind rooting the scum out from among the civilians.
The squealing from bitches like you about non-combatant casualties is what gets annoying.
18
14
ooooh!
mistakes were made!
empty the jails and prisons...
19
@16, Santa Anna didn't die in the Mexican War.
20
Anyone who earnestly says Freedom Ain't Free or These Colors Don't Run, or quotes some dead people on Liberty, needs to go home and auto-felate themselves to death. Please.
21
If you don't put in your $1.05, who will?
22
@18: Yes. Empty the prisons, that's exactly what I said. Nice straw man, moron! Thanks for making my point, though! Again, you're happy to sacrifice some actual innocent living people, making your 'protect all innocent life' stance, to put it nicely, a fucking bullshit fraud. Pussy justice indeed...show yourself, anonymous pussy!
23
22 you're very welcome, little man.
sorry, I can only hope one day to be brave enough to show my face, like you courageously do (nice Van Dyke)

Please wait...
