Notice they didn't complain when all of a sudden the "master checkers" started validating more of their signatures and the error rate dropped. Those "christians" sure are a whiny bunch.
You have got to be fucking kidding me. The supporters of this nonsense have already wasted enough of our states resources, manpower, time, and money already. They are just grasping at straws because they're ignorant bigoted bullshit and general KARMA is coming back to bite them. Bad things happen when you lie and decieve people. Yeah... What WOULD Jesus do??
At any rate,
dear Jesus, please save me from your psycho followers.
It is important to remember that the enemies of equality are using this sort of information to stir up their base and FUNDRAISE FUNDRAISE FUNDRAISE. We need to be doing the same. If/when Referendum 71 makes it onto the ballot we are going to have to raise a lot of money to protect the Domestic Partnership Bill.
Remember the huge amount of money that the Evangelicals, Mormons and Catholics were able to funnel to California.
They will do the same thing here and we need to be prepared. We have less than 10 weeks left until people have ballots in their hands. The people at www.wafst.org ar looking for volunteers and cash. Donate what you can at https://co.clickandpledge.com/sp/d1/defa…
A friend of mine is one of the signature-checkers, and she's told me they deliberately have volunteers from both sides checking, so that everyone's political bias balances out. It's part of the design of the process.
She also told me that she realized several of the folks from the non-equality side were pastors, because they would answer their cell phones with "Hello, Pastor [Smith] here," -- and then leave the room, presumably to counsel a parishoner.
These people are NOT Xtians. They are lying, sniveling, money-grubbing ignorant bigots who have duped a lot of people. There's a surprise waiting for them. When they line up and get on their little Disney-land ride to the Pearly Gates, it's going to heading south at a steep angle.
@8, Last I checked, No on Prop 8 was a different organization comprised of different people than we have here in Washington. If you want to find locals who abuse their donors, look no farther than Randall & Stickney. They spend something like 45% of donations on their own salaries and transfer of funds back to the mother ship.
The statements by the employees and the repeated assurances by them to gay sources that the rejections will surpass the twelve percent margin are no reason to think that there's something shady goin on. Nope, why should we believe them!? Nah....they wont do what they say they're gonna do. Those signers are just making things up!
I just pray that the silence of the secretary in all of this is not a reflection of his lack of supervision over this process. Because if he's leaving this solely on the hands of his employees then they will indeed see to it that the voice of the people is completely ignored.
A wise person once said male and female is not only natural but the unions themselves in all dimensions of life constitute an art form.
The rate of growth in the duplicate signatures is following a predictable pattern. At this rate, they should top out at about 2000-2200 signatures.
But if the other categories hold firm, the initiative will qualify for the ballot by a whisker -- by about 800-1,000 votes.
The biggest mystery in today's results is that the batch of 5,000 or so signatures new to today's tally had an incremental error rate of about 15% -- only a portion of which can be explained by the increasing number of duplicates.
If today's results are more than anomaly, than @2 is right -- the initiative won't make the ballot.
But as of right now, it still looks as though it's going to make the ballot.
They want everything to count, but also to be hidden. These "christians" don't want to pass judgement themselves, they want to be the tools of god's judgement. Their ultimate goal in life is to be a Noah, or a Moses, or an Elijah, or a Lot. They don't want to be god, they want to be the TOOL of god. They desperately want to be god's personal tool... no joking or sarcasm intended... they want to be god' vessal.
So when they vote on these things they don't feel personal responsibility. After all, they're only doing what their god commanded them to do.
It's easier to condemn gays if you don't condemn them yourself, but rather, if you say you have no choice... it is your master who condemns them and you must obey your master.
Someone want to do the math -- given an average number of duplicates in a sample how the percent of duplicates will increase based on the size of a subset of the sample?
Not that wingers can handle fuzzy math like that, but just for the satisfaction of those who can do more than count to ten.
@18: Faith and works, m'lad, faith and works. I have confidence that I will come, but I still have to do the ol' up-and-down. The Lord helps those who help themselves.
Oh, so now honesty and fairness are important eh? Randall and his ilk didn't seem to care much about that when they were lying to get signatures. Seriously, if you people love the cross so much, maybe you should go hang from it.
@18: It does show an appalling lack of faith. Why even bother praying about it? Evidently these mysterious shadow homosexual activists are more powerful than their puny god.
Part of me wants the rate to reach the breaking point that sinks the ballot, but another part of me wants it to pass so I can talk with my parents and see how they're taking the whole thing. From there, I'll probably get an accurate idea as to how soon I'll be moving out when I turn 18.
Regardless, they're losing. They know it, and they're getting afraid. They all know it, honestly, so they get desperate everywhere. The vigilante squads hunting gays in Iraq. The shoot-ups in Israel. The 'Christian Taliban' stalking and murdering a doctor in New York that performed abortions. The veto in Alaska. R-71 here at home.
And even though they know they're losing, it unfortunately just means they'll fight harder and dirtier. Ex-gay programs are going on the offensive, people are using the health care debate as a way to distract support for gays. It feels like something, eventually, is going to have to give. I'm just worried about what the breaking point will be, rather than when.
Oh leave poor dear Loveschild alone: While the other girls her age were in home economics class and having crushes she was the warm up act for a Tijuana donkey show.
But she left all that behind her, and look at her now. You'd never guess her past life, unless you get some Sangria in her, then things get pretty randy damn quick. We were asked to leave Trader Vics the last time she went on a bender. Bellevue will never be ready for a Loveschild with a snortful.
Obviously we need to just start over and inspect every signature, after we post the names, addresses, and signatures in a public place as required by law.
Actually, the duplication rate has only risen slightly (.54% I believe) while the rejection rate has climbed much faster than the duplication rate or standard variation can account for. If one reads through the statistics on the count so far, and the current 'policy changes' happening mid count, it's fishy at the least.
@ K, Don't worry about everyone seeing the names. We will most definitely be processing and posting the names and petitions online for all to see in September. Look to WhoSigned.org and Knowthyneighbor.org for the results

They are despicable.
Oh, bigots. They'll all lose in the end. It's only a matter of time.

I accuse SLOG of anti Republican bias for not promoting the candidacy of Mayoral candidate Kwame Wyking Garrett.

The Werewolves of London?
And being part of the community?
Because people notice things like that, and that's why Prop 8 passed, cause you never showed up then.
