HEY NOW: So, someone needs to help me out here, cos I just dont know. I can't figure this complicated shit out. Does gunfire and homicide RAISE the value of my 649K pre-war, 1100 sq foot "Craftsman" or not? I was getting 120% YOY for 2 years and need to know if Im gonna be able to 'keep up with the jonses"... Ya know????
This was crazy on I-5. They ended up shutting down I-5 about 20 cars past the on ramp at 85th St. I was ten cars behind the cops and we were just stuck there.
Side Note: first time longboarding on I-5. Sweet, but short.
After 20 minutes or so, people started backing up the on ramp to jet onto 85th. People up the freeway saw this and started U-turning to go *backwards up the freeway* through traffic to exit at the on-ramp on 85th. It was interesting, lots of maneuvering in tight quarters as half the cars were driving the opposite way up the on-ramp while the other half reversed. CHAOS, but controlled.
About twenty-five minutes after getting stuck, and with most cars in exodus the wrong way up the on-ramp, we (my two dude friends and I) decided to effing jet. Ten minutes later, we were on 99 going North.
Problem is, our neighbors in the Express Lanes were TOTALLY STUCK. They were packed in and had NO options to turn around or go forward. With those two barriers on either sides, I felt so bad for them. They were truck drivers hoping to get those miles in to feed their families, young dudes and chicks on their first/second/eight/100th date, and weirdo people just looking confused.
All this happened between 10:00 and 10:45.
About two hours later, we decided to head back home. The radio (I think it was KOMO) said they STILL had the I-5 closed. We had to drive around Lake Ballinger, but we got back to the 99 and had NO problems getting back south. I still wonder about those express lanes cars though.
Sorry for the Wall O'Text, it was just an interesting night. Highlight, Longboarding!
