I don't think we'll have any consensus on a new police chief unless more people are brought to the table.

They should bring back the committee, and double it.

Oh, yeah. All decisions should be made unanimously.

Let's put it up to a referendum. We do every other damned thing by referendum up here, so why not?

Ooh, I know. Let's solve one problem with another and make Tim Eyman the chief of police. That way maybe he'll be too busy to work up any more idiot initiatives, and we can be sure no pot cases will ever be pursued because I'm pretty sure he believes laws are illegal. What a fantastic plan!

Wait, they're going to STOP LOOKING?

How about a one-man committee, and the new mayor gets to decide when he gets here?

What other city departments are going to just shut down until the new dog tells them what to do?

Nickels: earning that no-confidence vote a little more each day.

Maybe we need to get rid of the mayor, except for ribbon-cutting, and go to a city manager system. You know, someone who knows how to run things. ANY things.

Well, I think it was pretty clear from today's debate that McGinn is the guy who knows how to run things. He has a strong grasp of the issues and on police and crime his comments went beyond more cops blah blah to the root of the problem. He offered ideas to help young people - especially at-risk youth, by offering job and educational opportunities.

Well, no panic, there is an acting chief and his hat is in the ring for the long haul.

Fnarf is not in danger. All is well, the process will roll on.

ZZZZZZZZZZZ news value, oh wait, Nickels must kill himself to redem him self in the next two or three weeks, oh sure.

I hope he takes all the paid leave days he has on the books, 5-6 week vacation. Do it Greg, you earned them days off.

Anyone notice the dearth of SPD violence towards innocent black men since the Grand Wizard fucked off to DC?

@3 Fnarf -

Really, would you be seeking a position in an org that will be going into major upheaval in the near future? Who would apply for that job?

In my experience with the public sector only the most unschooled and unqualified would apply for a gig like that... We will get better applicants after the election, not before.

You know, if our cops are too busy going into federal parks to do drug busts - maybe this is the time to layoff a few of them, while we don't have a top cop ...

As long as it's not that fucking Valchek.

Please wait...
