And Taylor Swift hit a grand slam at the CMAs. And then, according to her tweet, went home and had a bowl of cereal with her parents to celebrate. Ah, to be 19 again.

Silly Silly Salt Lake Queers...

"Hail Dan, full of hate,..."

The Democrats who control DC have declined to give us ENDA, but the Salt Lake City Council has just given the LGBT community an employment non-discrimination ordinance. And because we're pleased about this, we're "fellating" the Mormon Church?

Please. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging the baby steps made by our enemies, as they slowly, slowly move in the right direction on our issues.

Link to second story on Obamas and the Afghanistan war is bad

Re: WalMart: So they're moving up the trampling to midnight instead of 5 am?

5 "Burning Man Obama," link doesn't work, either

Good Morning Dominic,
I had to chuckle watching that Lou Dobbs snippet. It proves how difficult it is to avoid using colloquialisms. When I was a boy, I heard my mother use the phrase "get your cotton-picking hands off..." At the time, I had no idea what it referenced. By the time I entered college, I figured out what it exactly meant and would never use it (at least I don't recall ever using that phrase). However, I have heard a few people (like my boss who is not a racist) use it and they usually are over the age of fifty. I don't fault them or Dobbs. We're creatures of habit. But it was kinda funny when he checked himself using the phrase and especially given the subject matter.

Good luck to Lou Dobbs. Evidently he's leaving his post.

The Burning Man Obama link has an extra slash after photo: /photo//.

What could possibly be offensive about that Obama pic? They used to do a lot of art like this in the South. They'd even wear all white outfits that were just like an artists canvas. Why would anyone have a problem with burning someone in effigy . . . I mean art.
12
Oh wow, what a slip. Good riddance Lou Dobbs!
13
@11, 10 --- I am not sure burning an effigy of the Pres is racist since burning effigies is a fairly standard practice of protest world wide throughout history, but it sure is offensive.

The link isn't working, so who can tell me who this "artist" is?

The European Space Agency’s Rosetta probe is swinging by the Earth again tomorrow, to get a gravity assist for its asteroid rendezvous next year. Scientists are watching this flyby closely, because they are trying to explain why craft flying by Earth are seeming to get an extra unexpected speed boost not explained by relativistic equations. Something’s going on that Einstein didn’t account for.

In the meantime, Rosetta sent back this picture of a crescent Earth from 393, 328 miles back, the first of a series being taken to assemble an animation of the rotating Earth over a 24-hour period:

Will stay open for 24 hours the day after Thanksgiving to avoid mad store rushes, like one last year that led to a fatal trampling.

Like Renton Mike points out, unless they get rid of those special deals (first 100 DVD players sell for $10 each), this is completely meaningless. Fucking WalMart.

In a contest between Mike Tyson and any paparazzo, the paparazzo is always the least scummy motherfucker. ALWAYS.

I used to love Lou Dobbs on CNN when it started, as he did bring up economic issues and promote discussion, but over the last few years he's gotten very very strange and delved into this anti-immigration anti-immigrant (legal and illegal) and Birther nonsense.

Sigh.

Time for him to go - definitely.

A gay-rights group "fellates" the Mormon Church? Here's what they said:

“It’s the most progressive and inclusive statement that the church has made on these issues . . . What they’ve said here is huge, in protecting residents in other municipalities, and statewide.”

Mr. Carlson at Equality Utah said the wording of the church’s statement was crucial.

This sounds like a rational interpretation of the meaning of the support. What exactly is your problem with it?

Please wait...
