Seriously. Expect some normally unacceptable police behavior today.
2
^ Well, in broad daylight anyway.
3
I'd like to see the one with the rifle...shoot.
4
Listening to the SPD scanner gives me a new appreciation of what our police have to deal with.
Talk about stress!
5
Hey baconpussy, I hope you have a long, dismal, frustrated and hateful life.
6
Maybe all the scruffy black men who aren't Maurice Clemmons should leave Seattle for a few days to make things easier.
7
I think if I looked even the tiniest little bit like this guy, I'd be keeping an awfully low profile right now.
8
mpf. You realize baconpussy was indicating sexual attraction to the officer with the rifle and not some sort of deathwish against black men. Right?
9
@8: yikes, thank you! No shooting of anyone, any color conveyed here...I just wanna see that cop naked and, well, you know...
10
keep hammering the racial profiling angle, savage. would you be happier if they were acting like the TSA & patting down blonde toddlers & cambodian grandmas, too?
11
oh god, sorry baconpussy! I misread you.
12
Totally irrational overreaction.

On behalf of the rest of us, sorry for putting you thru hell today, scruffy black dudes.
13
Better keep Charles indoors
14
I know that gun is black and scary, but police don't carry full-auto.
15
I saw this scruffy black man while walking down Melrose and Pine call somone a "faggot" yesterday cause he didn't like the way he was looking at him. I hope the cops shoot him on purpose... I mean by mistake.
16
It may have been hyped or become more acceptable to do so in plain light but similar treatment to this perhaps a little toned down is everyday treatment not only for black men but for black women also.
17
@11: No prob...I need to remember not everyone lives in my hypersexualized world. I can totally see where you may have misread that.
18
Tough shit. Four cops were a helluva lot more inconvenienced the other day.
19
A black guy on the loose in lily white Seattle? Don't worry, they'll find him. Only take a couple hours. *Phew*
20
Hey, if you look like the suspect who murdered four police officers it's only reasonable that you may be stopped and questioned as part of the manhunt. I believe this is reasonable no matter the suspect's skin color. Better a few people get inconvenienced than more people get murdered.

In an effort to keep Slog's discourse disrespectful, censored and on our own skewed topics, commenting on these posts is available only to registered sock puppets.
22
"Hey, if you look like the suspect"...

Sure, that doesn't sound unreasonable, although too often we're talking about fitting a two word description when it comes to black males (and to only a slightly lesser extent black females).

Worse, given population figures and throwing in lower socio-economic status in, as well, stopping black males in "the area", "works".
23
Boy was I right. Less than 24 hours later, dude is shot dead. Finding a black guy amongst the sea of whites in Seattle is EASY.

Please wait...
