Hessler's reading/lecture last night was fantastic. Highly recommended, if you can make it to his other readings today (he was on Weekday last hour on KUOW, too, if you want to download that in MP3 form). You won't hear or read a better slice of sociology than his look at rapid cultural change in modern China during his time there in the last decade and a half.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure his reading at noon today is at University Books, Paul. The Elliott Bay Books appearance was last night.

Speaking of things that you read, someone should tell Neumos that their lovely, omnipresent Johnny Cash banner ad has not one but TWO glaring typos.

I don't get the women's underwear thing. . . if you put on underwear and you notice it in any way during the day it's not doing it's job.

I also don't get how chocolate is supposed to give me a big O.
