There's been a half-opened bag hanging out on my kitchen counter for the last week that roomie said I was welcome too. Thank goodness I was not in a junk food mood.
@4 - Underwhelming for you, crazy person. Chips are my biggest food temptation. Bigger than fine chocolate, or brie. I have to never-ever buy them at the grocery store, or else I'll eat the entire bag (yes, those 'family' sized bags) as soon as I get home.
@6 - Apparently they "are being recalled because they contain HVP (hydrolyzed vegetable protein) manufactured, distributed and recalled by Basic Food Flavors, Inc., Las Vegas"
So, I guess the salmonella was in that. Yummy =\
I was in the emergency room early Jan. this year before the recall, around 3 am, I had real bad stomach cramps, fever, vomiting. i thought i might die in my bath room! Called a taxi to the hospital. Bought the chips from Costco early Jan. 10. The doctor said it looks like food poisoning. I just got the recall message on my answering machine on Mar. 4, 10. Costco? ? I have read, no cases yet? should I let them know? I have the hospital records and receipt for the chips. ? The chips are finished. Could not figure out what made me sick , how could I be the only one?
Only the best chip ... Ever!
*sad face*
large chip isles in most grocery stores: depressing

Fuuuuck, now I'm seriously craving chips.
Also interesting that you can register a trademark for the word "Hawaiian".
