Lost is a blast. It requires that you pay attention, and connect dots. It makes a lot more sense than people think it does, and no the writers are not making it up as they go along.
Lost and the Simpsons are the only shows I turn on my TV to watch all week, now that Battlestar Galactica wrapped up. It rewards rewatching and is consistently great storytelling that pushes the envelope. That said, @3, the creators have said that they are absolutely making some of it up as they go along, but they have also had the general scope and ending planned out since their pitch to ABC for a pilot episode.
The creators staged a few of those semi-viral ARGs (alternate reality games) for fans between seasons over the course of the series -- there wasn't enough budget to do one over the last two summers...
I still look forward to watching Lost each week. Yet I've purposely not become obsessed with reading all about Lost online. Every time I try to read about it I stumble across people who write pages and pages about some item seen in the corner of a Dharma chalkboard. Maybe I'm missing out on getting a full understanding of the entire arc/story, but I just don't want to get sucked into reading every word on Lostpedia.
But this season I realize how much I've forgotten from past seasons ("wait, who is that and how do they fit in?") so that's why these video shorts are helpful. But having to sit through a 10 second commercial before each 2 minute video is freaking annoying.
A. Update all your drivers, flash, directx(if windows) and the such
B. Switch to a different browser. If you are using something shitty like IE, Opera or Safari; pick up Firefox.
C.Try using Boxee. Its a media center software app and that takes the browser out of the equation (kinda) It is still in beta, but it is a slick slick app.
D. or you could download a torrent and not have to worry about any ads
I apologize in advance...but anyone who needs these videos hasn't really been watching the show very closely. Which is fine...but most fans of the show should really know all of these things already.

Yay Lost!

You know what irks me...I have a dual head video card with one port hooked up to my 32" LCD TV.
I put it in full screen, but every time it hits an ad it jumps into browser mode, then I have to put it back into fullscreen.
Yeah, so what's your fix for that smarty pantses.
