Meanwhile, Virginia's conservative attorney general is pressuring state schools' regents (called "boards of visitors" there) to "rescind policies that ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation"--probably in knee-jerk response to the issuing of marriage licenses to same-sex couples in DC and Maryland's recognition of same-sex marriages performed in other states.
If it's on the front page of the NY Times Sunday edition (above the fold, no less), the allegations of Scientology's abuses are a bit stronger than "apparently".
It's OK: they don't have the money to sue like they did in the old days (and they're a bit backed up right now with an ever growing pile of lawsuits naming them as the defendant). It should be noted that your sister publication (PDX Merc) published a front page article on Scientology and... well, let's just that Dan Savage's weekly exhortations to be GGG have not ceased.

i'm almost impressed enough to try and find out if they come up with the ideas, or are just really good at choosing directors and recognizing concepts. the videos are attention-grabbing, innovative, and actually fun.
That video is impressive. The chance of the glasses being chimed at the right moment (and other perfectly sync'ed events far later in the machine) seems impossibly low.
