I always assumed she was; I only recently learned that it wasn't common knowledge.
2
Also, she's half muppet.
3
Oh rasberries!!!
4
She seems like the cool old lady I'd like to hang with at the Crescent one night and hear her talk nostalgically about the great times she had in her life.
5
I knew neither of these facts. And you have just given me one more reason I love Seattle. Carol Channing is divine. (I am one quarter gay man.)
6
I am one quarter cleansing creme.

7
I didn't know Derek Jeter was half African American, either, until I saw a bio about him on the YES network.
9
Based on that picture I would assume the other 3/4 is plastic.
10
She's one quarter African American and one hundred percent classy lady.

Ooh, Carol Channing! If you haven't seen her in "Mommy Time", you haven't lived:

My son is checking American on the census form.
13
Also quarter-black to the surprise of many: Ryan Giggs, Man Utd and Wales midfielder.
14
@11 --- Thanks for that!!!
15
And I'm supposed to like her... more?... Or less?
16
For as long as I can remember Carol Channing has always been 90 years old - I mean, for at least 35 years. Her actual age has finally caught up with her apparent age.
17
She looks like Buckwheat when he sees a ghost so, yeah, I believe it.

someone else I had no Idea was half African American:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Gore…

Depeche Mode co-founder Martin Gore (the blonde one). Also is apparently straight. Who knew?
19
#18 that is awesome I love them & had no idea. Didn't know Brits could be half African American, but I guess it's the mom who counts!

Also, has anybody else ever heard that Carol Channing was really a man? I heard this YEARS ago from someone who also told me about Michael Jackson's supposed "arrangement" with the families of various young boys before the first (1993) abuse scandal hit the presses. The Channing thing has always stuck with me since because of how MJ's trials played out.

Please wait...
