ohhhhhh, I bet that makes for a delicious Old Crow.

This is an upscale bar serving high end ice cut up specially for your drink and they put Jack Daniels on it? Some people have no taste and only want things to be gaudy.

hrmm... chainsaws usually release oil to keep the chain lubricated. i'm sure that'll taste good. nothign like a little petroleum product in your drink

While I'm sure he doesn't get out the oil can every Thursday, surely there's factory lubrication on the chain, bar, and sprockets that gets into the ice?

Don't know why that should bug me, though--we used to grab shaved ice for our sodas from the machine in our molecular biology labs that everybody stuck their mucky ice buckets in, until the safety officer made us quit.

@3 ftw. Although you could use an oil that is suitable for human consumption.

We used to put nails in our iced drinks (ice cut out with chainsaws) when I was in the Army. Lots of iron.

@3/4/5: Discussion of the oil (non-) issue may be found in comments over here.

Anybody else notice that the 2nd paragraph doesn't make a lick of sense?

"Though the ice...is way fucking better,...it absolutely doesn’t matter. ...One cocktail on the menu...is often ordered for the ice [despite my claim that] I know it is better for the guest even if they don’t." WTF?

Oil and incorrect sizing were my first thoughts. Especially oil. I want a beautiful single malt and the size and shape of potential single cube 'o ice addition is a key component.

I prefer ice chips or broken cubes in my liquor. A little dilution makes the flavor bloom, and not just for single-malt Scotch. Hmm, do they have any quality rums? By which I do NOT mean "Captain Morgan"; I'm talking Appleton Estate Extra Reserve (the best still product I've ever tasted).

Please wait...
