Oh oh oh is the book about Mexico City David Lida's First Stop in the New World??? If it is, you would be crazy not to grab it! It is a fabulous book.

If the book Paul mentioned about Mexico City isn't First Stop in the New World, you should still grab it. Then go buy FSITNW. All of us should know more about Mexico City because it is simply a fabulous place. (OK. Yes. Not neutral. I live there some of the time. I wouldn't lie about it though).

I'm proud to live in a Slog community that's excited about Momus (who wrote a song about me once, sort of) and "First Stop In The New World", which is one of the great books of the last decade.

@3, were you on the Indiepop list or something, Fnarf?
(I just ran across your photos of interior BC on Flickr last night and thoroughly enjoyed them, btw)

The Book of Jokes is pretty great from what I've read so far.
His other book, The Book of Scotlands, is also newly available in the US. UBS has a copy coming in for me any day now...

@4, I run the Indiepop list. Coming up on 16 years now. It's how I met Mrs. Fnarf.

Please wait...
