Timmytee, I think it means that the most common wealth level is $5. It's not the average wealth, and it's not a percentile. In the simplest terms, it's what this category typically owns.

Pretty shocking number. But then again my wealth right now is so negative, due to student loans, that I would LOVE to be worth $5.

I won't quibble with the data. The former is paradoxical (I've know that for a while. I used to work in diagnostic imaging and noticed the patients race). The latter needs more information (are these "single black women" mothers? What is their education level etc.).

Clearly, much needs to be done in the community. The data suggests a crisis.

Mode = value with the highest representation.

OTOH, it seems as if black murkins are less worried than white murkins.

What's changing? Are schools in black neighborhoods receiving more funding? Do black men and women no longer comprise a disproportionate amount of current inmates and convicted felons? Have the unemployment and poverty rates for black americans improved? Are black americans more likely to have health insurance?
