I don't see what the big deal is.

You can't get a copy of Sen. McCain's birth certificate from Panama, nor can you get a copy of Sarah Palin's birth certificate from Russia.

Sounds fair to me.

At some point, wouldn't it just be easier to produce the document and shut them up? You know, if they're not hiding anything and all...
3
@2, the document in question has been presented all over and analyzed at length. If you don't think it's his real birth certificate, you're crazy. Full stop.

they should start charging people for the request if out of state.

"Is Obama the secret son of Malcolm X?"

Oh man this is better than The Onion.

@2: It's been studied by many MANY people so far, but it's apparent that even if every birther-teabag studied it from front to back, they'd attempt to insert some kind of technicality and undo the entire stupid process.

The state officials in Hawaii have studied it and have no reason to doubt he was born there. End of any legal challenges right there. There is no federal birth certificate, only state, and they have certified his.

There is also a copy on the web, it has been photographed to show the state seal and looked at by real people. Google it.

You do not have a legal right to see my birth certificate, nor Obama's nor anybody else's. Once a state certifies you were born in their state, that is all you need. You can get a passport, a driver's license, a SSN. You are fully legal as a citizen.

Instead of getting a birth certificate, these people need to get a life.

That crazy lawyer that was filing all the Birther lawsuits just had a sanctions award against her (for filing frivilous lawsuits) upheld by the Court of Appeals. It only took them a couple of weeks to crank out the decision.

@2 hilarious!

The birther movement is SO 2009....

Maybe Orley Tates would do better chasing moose and squirrel.

I want to see the ORIGINAL constitution. I want to see for my self, the declaration of independence.

Wait, you mean it's actually on displace in D.C. what are you talking about? This some sort of ACLU thing?

There's a whole bunch of ignorant people who don't know Hawaii is a state. I've been asked in the past what I had to do to come to the continental U.S. (short answer = buy a plane ticket; long answer = no, i didn't have to get a visa or any special permission from the gov't). I wouldn't be surprised if they still think people in Hawaii get around by canoes and live in grass huts.

That's the only reason I can think of of why birthers would still want to see the certificate. But then again Hawaii gained statehood in '59 and Obama was born in '61...

Please wait...
