I LOVED this movie when I was a kid.
2
All I know is that Catherine Mary Stewart was in this and THE LAST STARFIGHTER. That's a damn fine pair of popcorn films!
3
@2 - WORD. She is by far the B-movie babe with the most potential to be a "legit" actress. Sadly, the last thing I saw her in was an episode of the Outer Limits and she had REALLY BAD HAIR.
4
Plus, she was in Weekend at Bernies. She's actually pretty well known.
5
Agreed. This is a damned fun B movie, and being drunk wouldn't hurt either. (BTW, the blonde - whatever her name is - is pretty hot too.
6
I'm with 1 - I loved this movie when it came out. A great slice of '80s Americana.
7
This was the first PG-13 movie I was allowed to see. My father took me to it when I was eleven and frowned vehemently afterward when I tried to engage him in a conversation about how COMPLETELY AWESOME it was.

I remember thinking how great it would be to be the last person on earth, because then you could pillage every convenience store for all the junk food you'd want, and your parents wouldn't be there to stop you!
8
This is definitely worth seeing!
9
This featured fine work by B-Movie vetran Robert Beltran. Also of Eating Raoul and Lone Wolf McQuade fame.
10
I reviewed this film for my high school newspaper, The Fox Tail. I gave it a very positive review. Though I found that "some of the situations were unbelievable."
11
Catherine Mary Stewart was in Weekend at Bernie's, a true classic.
12
Come the zombie apocalypse, I'd rather be stuck with this as the sole surviving movie than anything by Tarantino, the Coens, ...zzzzzzz
13
A movie so good, they decided to use a cover of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" rather than pay the rights to use Cyndi's version.
14
UM HELLO! Robert Beltran...Chakotay from Voyager!
15
I own this on DVD and it's a fun enough watch. I actually only bought it because I was on a Catherine Mary Stuart kick. I had just seen "The Apple" and wanted more. Mr. Schmader -- if you have not seen "The Apple," you need to drop everything and immediately watch what must be the most WTF musical this side of "Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie." I own "The Apple" too, and will personally loan you my copy if need be.
16
Whoa....I have indeed seen The Apple, but didn't know of Ms. Stewart's amazing run: Night of the Comet, Weekend at Bernie's, and The Apple? She's like the anti-Meryl Streep.
17
my favorite movie as a kid! Omega Man with valley girls! the lesson of this movie is that movie projection booths are steel-lined!
18
@16 and THE LAST STARFIGHTER!
19
17: Jeez, thanks for the spoiler alert.
20
Mr. Schmader, it happens in the first 5 minutes, it's not what I would consider a major spoiler whatsoever.
21
I complain about TMI and you give me MORE I!!!!!! WILL YOU EVER STOP YOUR SPOILING??????

Seriously, why don't you just go ahead and tell me who wins the prom scene....
22
@21 also, this movie is about a comet.
23
GAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
24
Catherine Mary Stuart was also the original Kayla Brady on Days of Our Lives. Which is where I first fell in love with her before I realized I had "the gay" and our love could never be realized. *sigh*
25
Fact: Night of the Comet rules.
26
Mary Woronov! Why do I have to be busy tonight? *sob*
27
I agree - this movie is great fun.

Please wait...
