Funny, Porn gives me the impression that sex is completely devoid of joy. But then again, I'm a woman and most straight porn features my gender obligingly getting jizzed on the face.
@5: Loveschicks, you forget that a lot of porn doesn't involve any female presence. I'm sure your favourite homo named Danny can enlighten you some. You also forget how porn is, on the whole, a consensual decision in which one participates.
Stop pretending to be Andrea Dworkin re-incarnate. The world as you think you know it is just not so simplistic.
Ah, Loveschild. Good to see you. Not having seen you on here for days, I wasn't sure what Slog was going to do without its favorite troll. I was afraid you had found a different bridge to hide under. Can you spew some more for us? We missed you...
Apparently she watches some really awesome porn, at that. What sort of dangerous objects do you like, LC? This one time, I saw a video of a girl sitting halfway down a traffic cone. Have you seen that one?
Porn is not the main reason that children expect sex to be enjoyable. We learn that when we first begin to masturbate. For myself my practice of almost daily masturbation already firmly established before I heard any anti masturbation propaganda. Because of that I learned at an early age to dismiss all anti sex messages out of hand. Happily because of the internet children can get validation that playing with themselves is perfectly okay and that they can disregard any messages to the contrary.
I always thought that the major misconceptions from porn were body image things like all men being hung like horses, all women having unrealistically large racks, all women being squirters, sex being easy from any angle, etc.
@17: Yeah, and what about ridiculous scanty outfits? Or hot wax?
I always thought the unrealistic expectations were that it's easy to make women aroused, bring her to orgasm, and no matter the woman she will ALWAYS enjoy facials/anal/donkey punch/vaginal exclusively/spanking/etc.
@4 It seems to me there is no inherent connection between "joy" and jizz in the face. The experience could range from joyful if you like it, to neutral, mildly annoying or even downright traumatic if you don't like it. It's bodily fluid, not poison.
Oh, & the porno ladies are submitting to it "obligingly"? You mean these videos are portraying sex acts as consensual & fun for both parties, instead of staging everything as a violent rape fantasy? Sounds like a real feminist nightmare.
@29. The women in most straight porno do not look or sound like they are genuinely having fun. When I watch run-of-the-mill straight porn, there is nothing resembling joy in the faces or sounds of the women (or men for that matter). And you can't seriously claim that the average porn facial looks joyful.
I think you are confusing "sex positive" for "sex blind".
For sex that actually looks fun and joyful on film, see erika lust.
" You mean these videos are portraying sex acts as consensual & fun for both parties... Sounds like a real feminist nightmare."
Interesting point, but it... is. Not because it's wrong to portray them as consensual and fun, but because it leads some men to thinking that most women are into that stuff. Just like it leads them to believe fellatio is obligatory and cunnilingus is optional. For some reason there are people who don't understand that mainstream porn is about arousing men, while sex is about arousing men AND women.
@ 29 So much sex education (even the decently comprehensive) treats bodily fluids as a substance somewhere in dangerousness between untreated sewage and nuclear waste.
Oh, and I've seen so little porn where *anybody* actually looks happy to be there or like they're having fun. The expressions are more "The line manager better have my check when this shit is over!" than anything else. But maybe you watch better porn than I do. Any suggestions?
Don't you perverts understand! Anything other than missionary produces gays and child rapists! Even solo masturbation, they just sprout out of the fluid you've leaked on any surface! RAWR!!!!
@30, The existence of 'sex-blind' pornography does not preclude the existence sex-positive porn.
@31, You've got it. Porn is almost entirely about men getting off (women have their ~*~Erotic Literature~*~). Kids need sex-positive sex-ed. Bashing Johnny over the head with that should help uproot the misconceptions he gets watching porn.
*raises hand* I'm a woman sifts through the wealth of material out there to find videos of women enjoying themselves. It's a lot more work than I'd like it to be, but I like porn enough to do it. Slowly but surely I'm building a cache of decent porn.
Just throwing it out there. Yes, a lot of porn feels downright anti-woman, but that's not all there is.
Do the real sex phobes realize how ridiculous they are?
Thanks for posting this.
*as long as it's consensual.

Awesome.
NSFW image just for LC.

That sounds like a Tiger Woods text message.
You forgot ass-to-mouth.
@17: Yeah, and what about ridiculous scanty outfits? Or hot wax?
Yeah, and that's just the Lesbian porn...
My favorite line in the video was, "sex will leave you numb and shivering for days..."
I thought, it sure will, when it's really, really good.
@12: No, but I saw one where a *guy* sits halfway down a traffic cone.

Hahahahahahahaha, this is brilliant.
Oh, and @29 FTW.
