Just as Gregoire added (or will do so) her name to the opposition, what are the legal possibilities of a petition to add all the citizens of Washington to it? Does that require a petition, a court filing, what? What about a referendum to recall McKenna? I have no problem with a Republican fulfilling their office with a bit of conservatism, since they're probably, usually, only doing what they said they were gonna do. But this is is so freaking beyond the pale and obviously contrary to the desires of the majority, thunderbolts need to rain.
You know I was just talking with my roommate about this. I think the biggest thing is that it's just annoying.
Like it's just irritating to have Washington on the list of states that's wasting its tax dollars on a fruitless lawsuit for political reasons. It's like, we're better than that. We don't do stupid shit like that.
I'm sure the law will be tested, and that's probably good thing you know, just for legal reasons, but should we be the ones testing it?
Supreme Ruler of the Universe is either a very, very good troll OR needs to know that he has a serious case of associated cost savings realized up his mangled bunghole.
@6 The two programs run in tandem, until June 30, when WA basic health is scheduled to be eiliminated. Until then, they run in tandem with their own long lists of requirements. A quick google search got me these links for you to answer your question. Currently, WA basic health is open to people who don't qualify for Medicaid.

Shouldn't that program be eliminated (and the associated cost savings realized) in favor of Obamacare?

And so you're answer is....what?
Medicaid: ttp://www.cms.hhs.gov/MedicaidEligibility/01_Overview.asp#TopOfPage
WA Basic Health: http://www.basichealth.hca.wa.gov/
http://www.cms.hhs.gov/MedicaidEligibili…
There will be no cost savings because WA is out of money.
