Yeah, sure the insurance industry won't exploit it.. uh huh... just keep on telling yourself that.
2
What, are we taking them at their word?
3
Who do I call when I want to call the health insurance industry?
4
not that we can/should trust them, like at all, it "seems" like they smartly realized that sticking your neck into a loophole that would be perceived as "it hurts teh childrens" maybee wasn't such a great idea, but then again they wouldn't be the heartless bastards they are if they didn't at least try it on for size.
5
@4 remember when bush denied health insurance to uninsured kids because he thought it was socialist? cartoon evil?

and insurance companies are utterly devoid of morals. accept that fact.
6
Told you single payer national health care would have been - and still is - better.

TRUST BUST EM!
7
This is wonderful news for the children.
Who is paying for it?
8
@7 - Obama is personally digging a secret tunnel into the room where you keep your piles of cash just so he can steal it and give it to dying children! I suggest you start hoarding guns, listening exclusively to Glenn Beck to avoid any dangerous brainwashing by the rest of the world, and put some really angry bumper stickers on the back of your pickup truck. Also, taping some teabags to your face will definitely help. That'll show all those damn liberals what's what!

Well, that's what happen when you put your - and your kid's - health in the hands of an industry that's more concerned about their stock value than actually helping their customers get what they pay - through the nose (and other body parts) - for.
10
@7 - you are. right now. by not insuring them, it jacks up your insurance rates.

either that or you're an old fogie and, like the Dove commercials, Flo would say "you're already using it, dearie" about your use of socialized medicine.

The more I think about it, the more I wish we just went for a public option period.

If these slimeballs are going to pour through every loophole to try and exploit children, then fuck them.
12
I wish we had say, a public option, to help make sure that even if these cold heartless mutant money hungry bastards had the nerve to deny children health care we, as a country, would make sure they can get the help they need. In a way I'm glad, maybe people will wise up that even some of the "most comprehensive" reform is meaningless if the person steering the bus is drunk on power.

I really, REALLY want to know who in the insurance industry thought it would help, earlier this week, to start shouting "Nyah nyah, nyah, we still don't have to cover sick kids." I mean, from a purely strategic perspective, what could that possibly gain them? the only thing I can think of is that it was to distract attention from something else they were trying to hide, but I don't have any idea what that could be.

@13 - I think, that like a lot of ridiculous things coming from anti-health care and similar right wing groups, they're trying to test boundaries to see just how strong their brainwashing of teabaggers is. If they can say things like "Ha ha, we're going to exploit loopholes in the law so that we can still deny children health care", and they get a million teabaggers cheering and saying "Yeah, right on! These guys are true patriots!" then they know that they can push even further. If the teabaggers instead seem ambivalent, they can just change their minds since teabaggers have a memory span of about a week and are good at forgetting who is pulling their strings.

Please wait...
