Speaking as a former Alaskan, I was really pleased to see Pres Obama calling for more offshore drilling.

He's right, as long as we have this current need for petroleum energy, we must develop what resources we have, while we ALSO work our tails off developing new energy technologies (the new-&-improved nuclear, anyone?).
