Help me here, someone; please. The City is proposing to accept "bids" on the portion of Seattle Center at issue here. The concept of Bids implies that the bidders will pay for the property or for the use of the property. And if this is the case, then the City has predetermined that this land will go commercial and not be open space as called for in the recently-adopted Seattle Center Plan.

But for those of us who believe the property should be used for public open space, as called for in the plan, how do we put in a "bid" to make it open space?

Maybe we need a committee of creative "bidders" to put something together. Of course if the process is rigged in favor of commercial bidders, it will be futile.

But it might be a fun way to make a point.

Of course if I'm missing something completely obvious here (yeah, it's happened...) then I'm confident someone will point that out.
