Being a half-Polish, Jewish, first-generation American now residing in Germany, I find this event really upsetting. Finally a respected leader who was conciliatory towards the microscopic surviving Jewish community in Poland. I really hope his successor has half the class that he had. And that this is a random incident of pilot-error, or anything that does not have evil Russian fingerprints all over it.

I'm already looking for a bulk supplier of Pellegrino water.

I keep reading about these Russian conspiracy theories about the Polish plane crash. I suppose I should be more up on my international affairs, but can someone please explain to me what Russia would have to gain by this??????

Thanx!

Wasn't President Lech Kaczynski a rabid homophobe who stirred up hate crimes against LGBT people in Poland?

Also, I doubt Russia assassinated him. This is a huge black eye for them. The plane was 12 years old. The liklihood it was maintenance or weather that brought it down....or, and this is a long shot and pretty doubtful, it's a terrorist plot by Dagestan/Ingushetia/Chechnyans to embarrass the Russians.

Plus, Christie is a tool. While wishing him dead is unprofessional, I can understand where it's coming from. Seriously, the guy wants to fire every single teacher in New Jersey so he can hire cheaper ones.

#3. Some geopolitical futurists have forecast a shrinking Soviet Union and a more aggressive Poland. There have already been tensions regarding tactical weapons. Russia is a declining power and Poland a rising one, so that always brings strife.

@6 Futurists forecast a shrinking Soviet Union? Uh, the Soviet Union has been gone since 1989.

Dixie Carter...interesting lady. Life long Republican who supported gay rights. Needless to say, the GOP never brought her out to show that their party valued diverse opinions...

Please wait...
