Someday, and please let it be soon, bacon will go back to being an ordinary foodstuff, and not a lifestyle or cultural lens. I thought that day had come when Jack In The Box started having hipsters say "if the house was on fire the first thing I would save would be the bacon", but that apparently wasn't enough. Bacon band-aids, not enough. Bacon salt, not enough. Bacon mints, not enough.

It's almost enough to put me off bacon altogether.
