Which is, of course, the only reason she was in the game in the first place.
2
I wonder what the median income of her audience is?
3
Agreed @Fnarf. Her resignation speech could have been 9 words: "I need to cash in while I still can."
4
Teabaggers want to get rid of private interest in government? And this is who they choose to lead?
5
Who's the whore now?
6
Sure does speak well of a public servant who ditches out on her 4 year commitment to the state of Alaska so she can hop on the gravy train while the iron is hot. It certainly shows where her priorities are, and they're not 'real american' They're real american dollars!

It still boggles my mind that anyone can listen to that nitwit.
7
On a personal level, my tax refund doubled this year, and next year my tax software says I should be getting every penny refunded, so I'm all hopey changey here.

Woo Hoo!

America LOVES our President!

@4

Actually they (and other non-Obamanites) seem to be choosing Ron Paul. Not S.P.

9
Well of course. This is no surprise. How much does Glen Beck make? Or Rush Limbaugh? Crazy hateful right-wing blather is very profitable.

@8

As usual, I'll stick with Nate Silver:

"The most electable Republican in America is ... um ... Ron Paul?

That's what you might think if you looked at today's Rasmussen poll, which shows Obama leading the libertarian by just 1 point, 42-41. The 'shock poll' is getting its share of attention, particularly since few other polls have shown any Republicans running that competitively against Obama.

But as regular readers of this website will know, the person conducting the poll can have a profound impact on its results. Rasmussen, in particular, has had a substantial Republican-leaning house effect thus far this year. Perhaps they will turn out to be right (although their idea of trying to apply a "likely voter" model 2.5 years in advance of an election is dubious). But it would be wrong to take a Rasmussen poll (or any other) at face value without taking into account this context."

7 congrats willi, on joining the 47% of Americans who pay ZERO Federal Income Taxes, you unpatriotic mooching tediously ignorant sack of shit since you won't be contributing toward running our great republic we trust you'll have the grace to stfu?
12
How much has Fat Albert made since leaving public office?
13
9
don't blame us because Liberal pundits are boring pompous jizzmonkeys who can't make it in the private economy.
has Al Franken ever paid his taxes, yet?
14
@11 - I pay lots of property tax, sales tax, Medicare tax, SSI tax. Get a job, mooch.
15
oh, and Exxon and a lot of other firms paid $0 in federal income tax too. As in BILLIONS. On record profits.
16
Alleged @11-13, When you finish puberty and the testosterone cools a bit, maybe you can learn how to speak cogently and rationally. Maybe then you can sit at the grownup table with us and debate, rather than name call.

Until then take your ad hominem vitriol elsewhere.
17
@11:

In about 90% of cases (and I should know, seeing as I personally prepare 40-50 returns every year) getting a refund doesn't mean one hasn't paid taxes, it means one has paid TOO MUCH tax and therefore is entitled to get the excess contribution returned to them.

So, maybe you're the one who should STFU, you ignorant nitwit.

And in any case don't worry Will, I'm cutting a big check to the IRS today, so I've got you covered.
18
@12: Al Gore didn't resign the Vice Presidency (or any other office for that matter). Sarah Palin didn't even have the decency to finish out her term before going into the private sector. Alleged, Yankee Hotel Juliet Lima Tango Golf.
19
14
But none of those things fund the government operations of our great Republic.
There are two kinds of people in this world, those who put their money where their mouth is and those who run their godam fucking piehole but don't help pay the freight.
Figures that Willi is part of the freeloading 47%.
They are always the ones bitchin for the guvmint to do more, cause- why not- it ain't costing them a penny....
20
16
Sure thing, pops.
What if I take it and shove it up your ass....
21
17

40-50 a year?

Wow!

You must really be smart....

so what does "getting every penny refunded" mean?
22
15
If Exxon
(and a lot of other firms!)
jump off a cliff
will you do that too,
Moron?
23
Alleged, What are you doing here? Do you have some kind of goal? Are you trying to convince people you're right? It's a rather bass ackwards manner of going about that you have.
24
@23: We will never know, Sam. I think making snarky comments on Slog is to Alleged what whippin' out their dicks is to a lot of lonely men on ChatRoulette - killing time with some self-serving attention seeking that mostly just pisses off anyone actually using the site in question.

(Question: Is it possible to "actually use" ChatRoulette?)
25
(Bonus question: Who's the "jizzmonkey" now?)
26
25

YOU ARE!

ding ding ding!

We have a Winner!
27
@25, Alleged's comments often do strike me as masturbatory.
28
23-25 etc etc

if you girls all pool your wit and resources you'll have a big heaping load of NOTHING
29
27
when you're a hammer everything looks like a nail, Wankopotomus
30
Where did the "Sarah Palin is so authentic" trolls go?
31
@,Alleged BARK! BARK!
32
How much of that is Oscar swag?
33
@17 my son thanks you and will look after you in your old age when he rails about SS and Medicare ...
34
@32 - just the iPad.
35
(pre-post for people who will claim they will be paying for my old age)

unlike most people here, I qualify for full Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security plus Canadian military dental, so don't have to depend on US taxpayers for my expenses - but I'll use the maxed out Social Security checks to gamble with ...
36
@21:

No, I'm just moderately smart - there are still roughly 3 mm Americans who are smarter than me. But, I'm guessing the number of Americans who are smarter than you is much, much larger than that.

And "getting every penny refunded" (which I presume you pulled from Will's comment @7) means that IF he meets the earnings qualifications as outlined in the United States Tax Code, then he would be legally entitled to receive a 100% refund of his federal withholding taxes - which, I might add is only a supposition at this point, and most certainly not a guarantee, regardless of what his tax software is telling him - and IF such were the case, then the IRS is legally obligated to give it back to him.

That's the way the tax system is structured, so if you have a problem with that maybe you should be writing to your congressperson to have the Code revised, because, you know, that's how we do things in this country - with laws.

See, that wasn't too difficult now was it?
37
@31: Haha, Sam, you nailed it with that one.
38
36 apology accepted
39
37 it's touching the way Butthead always takes up for Beavis...
40
@39: It's also always touching when a child puts on big people clothes...
41
40 Does your parole officer know you're using that line again?
42
@41: Wow. Really, dude, grow up. I'm moving on. Feel free to continue your playground games if you want to, but you'll have to play them with someone else. I know I should have shut you down earlier, but I was having a bit of fun.

Now it's just sad.
43
@41: Your mother dresses you funny, Alleged. Whoop-de-doo.
44
@Alleged: Woof.
45
Oh, look, another really pathetic political scream fest at Slog.

Because no Dem ever cashed in on prior political notoriety, right? Ever. Never happened. Nope. Not once. And what Palin is doing is perfectly okay, right? Nothing to be uneasy about, is there? Nope. Not at all.

Guys, haven't you figured it out yet? The system is busted, and you are going to keep getting reptilian fucktards like the Clintons, Bushes, Obamas, Emmanuels, and (lord in heaven save us) John Asshole Edwards running for high office.
46
Alleged @45, Clintons and Obamas are a hell of a lot better in political positions than shills on the faux news payroll.
47
reptilian fucktards? Alleged, thats all you got ?

BARK! BARK! Woof. & Whoop-de-doo indeed.
48
46, quit drinking Jim Jones' beverages.
49
@48, Quit drinking Rupert Murdoch's cum.
50
@48:

I think I hear your mom calling you to dinner. No, sorry, she couldn't be calling you anything with my dick in her mouth.
51
"Oh, Rupert, please yes, shoot your load all over my face and down my throat, oh Rupert! Oh Mr. Murdoch, give me your cock! Yes, what's that Mrs. Palin? God wants our country to be run by an Australian interested in benefiting himself and the wealthiest sectors of society alone? Okay, give it to me Mr. Murdoch. Oh Rupert!"

At least my lying-cheating-stealing politicians pretend to care about people other than middle-age middle-class white males and corporations. And when they fuck up they aren't standing on the completely hypocritical platform of the family values party. Also, they aren't owned by an Australian.
52
@45: Yeah, as a general rule, if you're going to be as immature and disrespectful as you've clearly been on this entire board, I don't think anyone will really take you that seriously when you try to then grab the "high road" of political discourse. Sure, we face serious political problems in this country, and sure, we should seriously talk about them. Like adults. With mutual appreciation and respect.

But again, that was never really your objective, was it?

No, you were here to be immature and disrespectful, as usual. It's about attention and getting off on believing that you're annoying people. We all remember it from grade school, most of us grew up and moved on. Those of us who have felt like wasting the time here have responded in kind: with disrespect that glosses over a little pity.

In general, I don't think that many other people are interested in immature exchange on an internet board, and those of us who do entertain it, mostly do so because it's kinda fun to get you all frustrated and snarky. Hell, maybe mocking your frivolity even validates this superiority complex you think we have. Who knows. I do know it's pretty hilarious.

Anyway, if you have a point to make, Alleged, you should just make it, and at least try to communicate more effectively, as if you care about something more than merely entertaining yourself. Until then, you can't really complain when you basically say nothing of substance and people treat you like you're... saying nothing of substance. It's kinda the way it works when you Say
Nothing
of substance.
53
wow
For a girl who's 'moving on' you're pretty obsessed.

It never does any good to point it out,
and it is pretty funny when you girls do the whole
'alledgedly' thing at random posters,
but not all unregistered posts are the same person.

When we come back in the morning and find
the Battle for Truth and Justice
continued on several hours after we left,
and,
amazingly,
we totally kicked ass
(even though we were gone)
it's simply Priceless.

At some point you girls should go to bed and quit swinging at shadows....
54
@53: What can I say? You're pretty funny.
55
...and more in that "laughing at you" kind of way. ;)
56
Kicked ass? Oh Rupert!
57
PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS!

They'll just, uh... breed and make more trolls?
58
no breeding,
but lots of farting and belching.....

Please wait...
