I want the skull!

Rather than blowing it up, might I suggest importing thousands of capybaras to devour it?

It's possible that capybaras eat whale, and West Seattle would be lovely overrun with giant rodents.

Alternately, attach thousands of helium balloons, and let it float over the eastern Washington.

ha ha. Give the fatties a break, body Nazi.

Maybe they'll serve him up in one of the Korean or Japanese restaurants - I hear they use a lot of Japanese-slaughtered whale meat here in Seattle.
5
You're a day late. It was beached (dead) in the shallows yesterday.

It was on the local tv news and on-line last night.

Scooped by West Seattle Blog again!
7
Is this the one the orcas were seen attacking a few days ago?

Dan:
Why aren't you claiming that the Catholic Church molested and then killed it?
9
As obsessed as I've become with Seattle recently (thanks, Slog), I only discovered yesterday that you guys have seals. And now whales! WOAH.
Now I'm definitely coming...
10
I kind of like @8's angle.
11
@8 It probably wasn't young enough.

These are defined as "stinkers" in the guvmint regs. You can look it up.

Dan, thank you so much for posting that YouTube link. I've been hearing stories about that exploding whale for years, but this is the first time I ever got to see the video. You made my day!
17
I keep looking for seals, yet somehow miss them. I'm always a few minutes too late. I saw a porpoise a little while ago, though.

Is there any specific information on the location of this dead whale, and has its necropsy happened yet? I want in on this, necropsies are fascinating, and I've yet to see a whale necropsied, only dogs and monkeys.
18
Regarding the exploding whale link (big thanks), who thought using 1/2 ton of explosives on an 8 ton whale was a good idea? I was laughing my arse off from that point on, and seriously fell off my chair when the inevitable happened...
19
maybe the whale did beached so he can die or maybe it died because of pollution, who knows, let us just hope it will not happen again.
