I heard about this on Tabatha's Salon Makeover and it's a great idea.

But a better idea is to seriously stop our consumption of petrolium based products but clearly we have no desire to do that.

@1 wins the Seattle Hippy and Debby Downer comment of the day already. Good move.

@2, just keeping it real. :)

Local Seattle meat restaurants should step up and donate the tons of animal hair they currently burn or throw away. It's not a small number! Cows, pigs, horses, lambs, goats, and rabbits all have a large amount of coarse hair.

Bethany, you have ins with local restaurants - how about contacting them to donate the tons of animal hair they don't serve? Quinn's alone could make a huge difference.

Can short hair clippings be donated or is long hair a requirement?
7
@6 all hair that is cut is swept up and put in a bag to donate where I work. (Zero Zero)

I used to have to mop up large oil spills from transformers.

Cotton Bales.

Seriously. It's the south, there's lots of them, and they are very very very very effective.

And organic.

Best part is they can be reeled in and squeezed to get the oil out.

USE APPROPRIATE AND LOCAL TECHNOLOGY!

You can't dismember hair.

@9 - you can if you have some large pinking shears.

Please wait...
