Question, just for future reference....
I'm planning on coming to Seattle during the second week of August (partially for slog happy), but I am legal to drink in Canada but not in the States. Can I still go and not drink, or are the places usually just 21+?

More fun than a basket of hungry looking baby possums, you say.

Why yes, that is a good description of Slog Happy, it is more fun than a basket of possums but it would have to be a tie with a basket of kittens, and only a Slog Happy with trivia could rival a basket of puppies.

Possums! I thought they were rats at first!

Ness, most of the places we go don't check ID cause it's too early. If you just hang and don't drink no one will be the wiser.

And thanks Keshmeshi, I was just about to do that til the boss stopped by for a chat.

That image will live in my nightmares forever.

For some reason I'm in love with the passel of possums!
8
Thanks, Enigma... I'll be sure to see you all there in August then. :)

Fuck you fuck you fuck you.

That picture will keep me from dropping my guard wherever I am, even bed, for a month.

God damned possums.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that likes oppossums.
:D

OMG! Those are so cute!

ness, i have to disagree. you're pretty likely to be carded walking into a bar in seattle. if the cops show up and they have underage people in there they could lose their liquor license, so they take it pretty seriously. i haven't been to the solo before, but i've never gone into a bar without being carded. if it's a bar/restaurant thing then you're ok not in the bar area.

i mean, give it a shot for sure, but don't get your hopes up too much. collective apology about our drinking age law btw.

@12, fuuuuuck. One of the main reasons I want to visit Seattle is to go to slog happy (maybe a little lame, but it's as good a reason as any for me to travel). I guess it depends on where it's taking place in August. I was always under the impression that the places it's held are always more restaurant-y places.. but then again, I've never been.
Shiiiiiiit.

@ Ness, I was in Seattle during the second week of January and they decided to hold it on the third Thursday that month. So, you can't count on it happening the second Thursday anyway...
15
Yeah, but it's wicked cold in January.

Wonder how many of the little possums yelling YAY in that picture are roadkill now? I saw three DOA just this morning.

Please wait...
