I like Wilson's work. I met her at a signing of Cairo at Zanadu Comics downtown, and she seemed really nice. It's been great to see her develop through the Air series. I'm sad to hear about it ending, but I'm sure she's got plenty of great years and projects ahead of her.

My wife adores Air more than I do, as I just haven't been able to get totally into it. There are flashes that blow me away--that issue set in ancient times in particular, when I finished it, I waved it to the wife and said, "This says Eisner nomination quality." I'd been planning on going back in trades, because I think I just wasn't 'getting' it monthly like she did. Shame...

Hmmm...even these days, is that Sandman-knockoff quip really justified? I could do without 100% of Veritgo's fantasy material, but they have literally the best track record of any owned-by-a-major-corporation comics publisher EVER.

@3 I don't get that Sandman jibe either.

If you mean fantasy, that's been a standard of Vertigo since back when they were doing Winters Edge. House of Mystery, Greek Street, and the Unwritten--maybe. Greek Street, sure. But the rest? The Brian Wood books couldn't be further removed, along with American Vampire, Fables...

Please wait...
