Actually, female politicians don't refrain from having affairs because they're such great paragons of virtue - it's because most of them are so butt-ugly that nobody wants to fuck them.

Well, occasionally there are female politicians with scandals. Case in point: the deliciously sleazy affair of the 59-year-old, rabidly anti-gay, born-again Christian member of the Northern Ireland Assembly AND wife of the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Iris Robinson, and her 19-year-old boy toy, who worked in her local butcher's shop. She has since resigned from the Assembly (citing mental illness as the cause), and her affair even cost her husband his seat in the Westminster Parliament during the UK general election earlier this month...
