Well, at least he's not a "rabid" anti gay. He's just a misguided Republican who happens to be gay. And though I don't like it when gay people in public office vote against the interests of gay people, I think they are selfish, I don't call them hypocrits. They're more like Clarence Thomas.
He doesn't seem that bad, he was in a bay window closet, he divorced his wife and didn't brought children in that mess. I am with #2 he is just Republican.
Kirk is another in a long line of closeted Republicans that have been outed. For this, he's not remarkable. What is notable, however, is that he doesn't appear to be the typical fuckballs-crazy closeted Republican that we would expect; he seems ordinary.
No wonder Kirk has been so nasty in his ads against Alexi Giannoulias. Certain old frustrated queens - especially closet cases - always hate pretty boys.
Maybe it is because I get most of my news from public TV and radio, but I heard all about how Kirk lied about his service record and nothing about Kirk being gay. Frankly, I don't really care one way or the other. Since I live in Chicago, it is likely that my vote will count for the Democrat regardless of who I actually choose, which is why I am most concerned with the primaries.
