I hope she never stops talking.
2
Since we'll make fun of her without memorably countering the grain of truth in what she says, she wins.
3
I'm surprised she didn't blame poor people. I mean, who cares if they get pissed-off?
4
Sarah Palin is alot like a Pez Dispenser. Her head moves up and down and this candied shit keeps coming out.
5
What grain of truth would that be?
6
great to know she has been for ending off shore drilling this whole time.

7
The bit where drilling on land doesn't make oil spills in the ocean, Joe. Yeah, it's that tiny and dumb a grain, but...

That we won't lower ourselves to have someone talk back at the same level with the same punchiness means she wins with the dummies. We can't lose the dummies.

Dan,
Did you read this by Charles Krauthammer on Sat.?
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/op…

I am not in favor of drilling ANWR...yet. But, Krauthammer has a point. Land operations are far easier to deal with than undersea operations. And, while BP is responsible, Mr. Obama must assure the nation that it is doing all it can regarding the calamity in the Gulf. He didn't do a good job of that last week. Like Bush vis-a-vis Katrina, I hold Obama accountable for the response to this spill. It may not be fair but that like Krauthammer says is the nature of American politics.

BTW, I think the best response to the spill is for Americans if they can, not to possess a combustion engine driven car. I don't have one.

Only Aquaman can save the Alaskan coastline from the oily monster!*

"And Alaska—we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs. … It’s to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans." - S.P., New Yorker 2008

Drilling in Alaska means more welfare money for Alaskan tweakers, i.e. her primary base of support, all funded by redistributing oil wealth.

Um...in her own state a little thing called Valdez occurred because an oil laden ship called (of all things) Valdez, ran a ground.

Where the oil comes from (land or sea) may have less to do with whether an environmental crisis occurs, as it probably has to do with how we capture and contain the oil we take out of the mantle, including transporting it, and otherwise contain it. Keep in mind the terrible Anacortes Refinery tragedy that occurred just a month or so ago (besides other ones).

Simplifying facts has been a great way to formulate sound bytes for many politicians. Voters, no matter what party, need to keep facts in mind.
12
I said her type finds the answer to their prayers no matter how terrible things get.
13
P.S. Oh yeah, she's also a liar and a crook!
14
After hearing many times and finally being swayed by the argument that I should stop using the word "cunt" such that I have trained myself to stop using it aloud and even usually in my own head, Palin makes me take two steps backward with this effot most every time she opens her mouth.
16
I blame the dinosaurs. If those fuckers hadn't died 500 million years ago, there'd be no oil in the bottom of the ocean.
17
@8,

As John McEnroe used to say, you cannot be serious! Charles Krauthammer! He's more of a hack than Palin is!

Unlike Katrina, the gov't is NOT responsible for causing this disaster. And fixing this is a million times more complicated. All Bush had to do during Katrina was mobilize the usual emergency response network. I don't think Obama's been perfect, but he's been FAR superior to Bush's Katrina response.
18
That's like a serial killer saying, "Parent activists are responsible for my murderous rampage! Their work got better security for schools, so I had to gun down children in an orphanage instead!"
"Drill, baby, drill" obviously refers to the need for air holes in her skull.
19
@14, Cunt or similarly Bitch seems a little harsh for this marshmallow. She's comic after all. How about Dumbass? Or is there a serious element I'm missing to her that she can be truly taken for a dangerous Cunt? Maybe if it's a mudwraslin or snowmobile race, yeah. But on a national stage it's just Dumbfuck.
20
@7: We lost the "dummies" 30 years ago, when Reagan broke the New Deal Coalition.

They chose Bush, McCain, Jindal, Barbour, remember?
21
Land operations are far easier to deal with than undersea operations.
Shallow sea operations are far easier to deal with than mile deep operations.

If you won't drill ANWR or off the coasts of Cali etc then you force oil companies to get oil from deep wells (where a leak becomes an ecological armageddon) and Nigeria.
22
@21: OR we could have sponsored research into alternative fuels and not have to deal with deciding between disrupting fragile environments and running a problematic operation.
23
Rachel Maddow cleared this one up nicely. Despite Mrs. Palin's attempt to claim that the BP disaster is a result of enviro-freaks preventing sensible right-wingers from drilling oil on dry land where it's supposedly safer, there is ample video footage of her (and a bunch of other Republicans) specifically advocating drilling at sea.
24
22
you could have.
why didn't you?
25
@24: Well, it's a long story concerning people like you twerps not listening to us, and Big Oil stubbornly resisting diversification of operations.
Asking that question is like asking why we didn't put out a fire after swiping the last fire extinguisher away from us.

Please wait...
