Exactly what Dwight said. The first six or so (I'll even give Obsidian Butterfly a pass) were great, but then the just went downhill to a lot of group sex and whining. Patricia Briggs, Kim Harrison, and hell, even Charlaine Harris have better vampire books on the market. Briggs' are especially good, as the heroine actually gets hurt like a normal person (and she doesn't have a magic never-ending source of money, and they're set in the Tri-Cities).
(Not that I don't own all of the LKH books, but that's what used bookstores are for.)
The sex elf thing was interesting as a column. In a book, you got the sense of the limited possibilities. Made monogamy seem just fine. The author was honest about the fact that it could get boring and awkard, which I appreciated.
Then they turned to porn with a lot of whining in between scenes.
Patricia Briggs is such a better source for supernatural ass-kicking.
