Frankly, I'm half hoping that it comes to war. Kim Jong-Il will get what's coming to him if it does, considering how fed-up China (North Korea's only real ally) seems to be.
2
if it comes to war at least 300,000 South Koreans and 12,000 Americans will die.
do they have that coming to them?
plus those nukes and missiles that will reach the US west coast- will Seattle, San Fran and LA also get what's coming to them?

not to worry!

Supreme Leader (and Global Ass Kisser) Obama will talk Kim down out of this tree.

just like he talked Iran out of it's nuclear program....

The guy's on death's doorstep. Just be patient.

Check out this hilarious documentary about Kim Jong-Il's bodyguards. Fast forward to around 1:00 for proof that it isn't Kim himself who's shooting anyone.

@2 ah bullshit. The war will last three hours. The North's command and control will be vaporized in 30 seconds. The hungry, broken down northern army won't even make it past the DMZ. If the war was fought 20 years ago it would be a bloodbath. Nukes reaching the west coast? Get real. Shit has changed, keep up.

The North Koreans are armed to the teeth and ready for an attack from the south. Should somehow this senile old bastard provoke the Chinese - his only ally and the sole reason for his existence - he would be overthrown in a heartbeat.

I highly doubt there would be a war - more likely a bloodless internal coup with a new puppet put in place of the old one. Regardless I suspect both the Chinese and the Americans are just waiting for his supreme craziness to kick-off so they can bride his son into opening up the country to more business.

The world needs a new source of extremely cheap labour.

Who you callin' a Trigger?!!... Er, um, yes, well... Carry on...

North Korea has about 18,000 heavy guns. North Korea's 170mm Goksan gun and 240mm multiple-tube rocket launchers are the most powerful guns of the world. These guns can lob shells as far south as Suwon miles beyond Seoul. The big guns are hidden in caves. Many of them are mounted on rails and can fire in all directions. They can rain 500,000 conventional and biochemical shells per hour on US troops near the DMZ. The US army bases at Yijong-bu, Paju, Yon-chun, Munsan, Ding-gu-chun, and Pochun will be obliterated in a matter of hours.

The US army in Korea is equipped with Paladin anti-artillery guns that can trace enemy shells back to the guns and fire shells at the enemy guns with pin-point accuracy. However, it takes for the Paladins about 10 min to locate the enemy guns, during which time the Paladins would be targeted by the enemy guns Gen. Thomas A Schwartz, a former US army commander in Korea, stated that the US army in Korea would be destroyed in less than three hours.

@6 - The North has one of the largest armies in the world, with most of them stationed close to the border with South Korea. They also have a shit-ton of conventional artillery located about 20 miles from Seoul, which has 25 million people in its metro area. That is half of South Korea's population.

I agree, no nukes on the West coast. Not even close. But, any war between the Koreas would be a bloodbath, even if it was over quickly.

@9: Having snooped around a bit, I found that your argument was copy/pasted word for word from this article written by a North Korean named Han Ho Suk: http://www.rense.com/general37/nkorr.htm
Really? Disseminating the propaganda of a potential military enemy? You're some patriot indeed.
The Goksan guns are hardly "the most powerful guns of the world". That honor goes to the Dora 800mm gun, a WWII-era German artillery piece. The most powerful recently used ones would be the 400mm guns on USS Iowa-class battleships, which were decommissioned over a decade ago. 170mm guns are actually pretty standard for modern-day armed forces.
But here, the entire North Korean argument gets picked apart nicely here: http://militaryminds.tribe.net/thread/8a…

But he's got Noah's Ark! Doesn't that count for something?

Please wait...
