I'm only a little surpirsed, as I was sure Gallagher was gay when I was younger. You can only stay in the closet so long before you become twisted. Had he come out and stayed proud, he'd be as happy as Bruce Vilanch is today.
A lot of comedians are conservative or libertarian. It's not all Margaret Cho and Joan Rivers out there. Look at the average stand-up show audience: frats, straight couples on dates, seniors at casinos and etc.
Intimating violence against people is a class act. If people want to pay for the diatribe of a fool, let them. I never found him the least bit talented or entertaining.
@13 - thanks for the link. After reading that interview and Lindy's article, I think you can remove the "borderline" from your post. That guy is a stark raving lunatic.
Which Gallagher was it? There are two of them. The original Leo Gallagher and then his brother Ron who when Leo took time off picked up the mantle touring with the act and billing himself as Gallagher, Too. My knowledge gets sketchy here but I think when Leo wanted to come back and do his act and asked Ron to stop Ron denied the request and went rogue on Leo apparently creating much acrimony between brothers.

Here's a report on his late 90s attempt to "try" to be a Mexican comedian.
