This statement is extremely concerning to me, as I don't believe many, if any, of us have actually lived during an economy where obtaining a job was so difficult. If anyone has, it would be those that lived during the Great Depression. Republicans play this up as people being lazy or wanting a "nanny state," never admitting that people simply cannot live or support a family on a 20 hour a week McDonald's or Wal-Mart job. That $160.00 a week paycheck doesn't even cover the rent/mortgage, let alone food, health care, day care, utilities, clothing, etc, etc, etc.

This, I see, as the republican's way to "force" President Obama to fail. Instead of rolling up their sleeves and getting down to working with "those Democrat commies" and initiating programs to get our economy going, they make every issue a political hotbed and nothing gets done. Or better yet, they are only concerned about same-sex marriage, abortion, birth certificates and putting God back into public schools. None of which help get people back to work.

And I'm sorry, but giving the wealthy and giant American corporations bigger tax breaks isn't going to get our economy started either, which seems to be the only other thing republicans currently care about.
