What this Baltimoron would like to say to you is entirely NSFW.

Hey, we're in Seattle. We're going to complain any time its not exactly 76 degrees and sunny.
3
NY Central Park is actually at 102 now.
4
it's too cold! it's too hot.

shut the fuck up and enjoy it. seattle summer is finally here. deal
5
ps, i grew up here, and i won't be complaining
6
Just drink more water.

To people who talk or post or whine about weather outside of reasonable smalltalk at a bus stop: we know. we've heard it out of the mouth of every casual interaction. nothing you are saying is new or significant or anything outside of absolute tired and repetitive bullshit.

FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU

I can't think of anything better for the planet than the NE baking this summer. We all know that anytime it's unseasonably cold in our media centers it proves that climate change is a hoax.
9
Look, it's horrible back East because they don't just have high temps but high humidity.

I grew up in Arizona and the first time I experienced high temps/high humidity was in NYC. It was the worst and I have no idea how people stand it for a whole summer (plus the bugs).

As for the drier heat of Seattle (and, of course, Arizona), it's no big deal. Lots of ways to beat it and except for the idiots who choose to exercise in the heat of the day, it is usually enjoyed.

That said, when I was growing up 100-101 degrees in Phoenix was the norm. That they now go 110 for days on end is scary.

The only thing worse than irritating weather are the people who complain/bitch/moan about it.

Bethany,

I was born and raised in the PNW, and short of a sudden, unusual change in temps from, say, 60 to 90+ in a matter of a few days, I've NEVER complained about the weather. And even then, it's only the suddenness of the transition, and not the weather itself, that's problematic.
12
It rained here in LA last night and this morning. But that's the natural course of things, right? Warm and sunny in Seattle, cold (*ahem*, high 60s/low 70s) and raining in LA....
13
That'll teach Dan to whine about the weather.
14
It's 37 degrees in Paris, France.

Must be chilly.
15
It's 68 in Paris right now. In the middle of the fucking night. Dumbass.
16
Having grown up in southern New Mexico I can say that sunshine can become oppressive. Seattle has damn near perfect weather for me.
17
@15 isn't that a bit hot? 68 is like 150 in the shade ...
18
37 would be more than a "bit hot" too, shitforbrains.

Fucking pussies. Try Granada, Nicaragua for two years. The coldest it ever got was 79 degrees, once, at three in the morning. Every day when I came home from work it was between 102 and 106 in my socialist-architecture house. Yep: 7 foot ceilings, a zinc roof, and no cross ventilation.

At least here there's plenty of air conditioning.

as someone currently in bmore, and is about to go out and play beach volleyball, i'd try to explain how hot 104 + humidity is but my brain has melted. basically it sucks! we get stuck with 4 million feet of snow this winter and now the hottest summer ever. we're in the damn middle of the country, we're not supposed to get the extremes!
21
#20, you are truly a badass. I live in Seattle now but spent a few summers in Baltimore and NYC, and have only one thing to say to the PNW weather pussies: please STFU. You don't know what hot weather is, and the humidity in New York or Baltimore would have you crying like a baby in a nanosecond.
22
@21: which is precisely why I don't live in either of those places (among other reasons). In Seattle, we are most comfortable in a very narrow band of temperatures. As a PNW native, I am totally ok with that. Maybe you are the one that should learn to live with us, or STFU.
23
I grew up here. My parents, grandparents, great-grandparents (on both sides), and two of my great-great grandparents grew up here. Trust me, I'm pretty sure none of my ancestors were, nor will any of their descendants (at least that I'm aware of, and there's lots of us!) be complaining about the weather. Speak for yourself!!!
24
I like that I am wearing shorts and a t-shirt right now, and when I go outside, I don't have to bring an extra layer "just in case."

We have this weather, maybe, for three months. Enjoy it!
25
People in Seattle are weather wimps. If it gets hotter than 72 they whine. If it gets below 60 they whine. Just get used to the fine whine since it never goes away.
26
This is obviously Dan's fault.
27
i heat wave in my books is 14 days over 97. 93 is a warm nice welcome temp./i wear jeans until at least 90. yea. i grew up in the south where it actually gets hot for more than 3 days in a row. interestingly, the people still complain.

Please wait...
