Is that why all the sirens and helicopters were on the Hill at 6:45? They woke me up, and I turned on the news but couldn't find anything. Are helicopters really necessary in situations like this?

Dude, those helicopters overhead freaked the shit out of me! I thought the apocalypse was nigh when I could hear the sound (directly above my apt) but could see nothing in the sky...

@2 - Not only did nothing like that happen in Redmond, nothing at all happened in Redmond.
