I'd love to laugh at how Philistine the ANC is acting, but this could just as easily be a story about U.S. senators.

Reminds me of this...

and this:

If documents substantiating the real character of MLK were finally un-sealed and released to the public- I bet they would react the same way...

“Charles D. Brennan, retired Assistant Director of the FBI, stated that he had personally been involved in the FBI surveillance of King and knew from first-hand observation the truth about King's sexual conduct --- conduct that Mr. Brennan characterized as "orgiastic and adulterous escapades, some of which indicated that King could be bestial in his sexual abuse of women."

I think it's a good piece. Certainly made me think. The death of Mandela looms over all politicians in SA....everyone is afraid to talk about it.

Nice to see Helen Zille there!

I feel like it could have been painted somewhat better, but I appreciate the sentiment.

The corpse in the original Rembrandt is an actual identifiable convicted criminal who was executed, so I could certainly see how people would get mad about THAT comparison to Mandela... but I doubt that's why they're mad, or that they are even aware of that fact. I think calling the painting racist is a little simplistic.

Please wait...
