but ... there won't BE any new police to arrest people for noise violations, because that money is going to the Billionaires Tunnel.

Hmmm. We got taken to the cleaners.

Roosters are dreadful animals. So are most chickens, actually, but roosters are worse.

Pigs are smart. Cows are just there (although bulls are scary). Goats grow on you, but come slaughter time, I never had a probably saying bye-bye to a rooster.

Your first link is bad; go here instead (the proper server is clerk. ci. seattle. wa. us instead of ci. seattle. wa. us).

A 2.7MB pdf for 24 pages, because they saved it as scanned page images. Lame.

re: roosters.

cock blocked.

Woo Hoo!!! I've got 8 baby chickies living in my shed that I hatched last week... Now I only have to sell 3 of them and I get to keep the rest!!!
6
@ 2, did a rooster attack you when you were a kid?
7
Do they allow apiculture?

@2 I've slaughtered many a rooster in my day, and for the most part I felt just fine about it.

Until I met Rudy. The way he crowed, strutted around the yard, the gleam in his eye, the ruffle in his feathers. Now he was a special rooster. We really connected during his short time in this world, and I'll never forget him.

my neighbors have chickens and one of them sure sounds like a rooster. he's not very loud, and certainly no where near as annoying as an idling diesel bus.
yes to roosters and no to diesel buses!

@7 - Considering that there are already urban apiculturists in Seattle, I'd suggest that either they are allowed, or flying below the radar at this point. They are not really a major nuisance, like cocks tend to be.

Apropos to the Urban Farming allowances: This is FUCKING GREAT! Major Kudos to City Council for this!!! Very intelligent and forward thinking of them. The more urban farming/gardening the better. And the sooner the better too. We have skills to continue to build and spread.

Thank you Seattle! I fucking love this city.

Next up, how to capture and retain (rain) water in healthy, potable ways.

Also, it might be advantageous to develop non-positive-interest forms of trading currency; in order to minimize the greed factors of our positive-interest currency, and maximize the community-bond factors of trading with one another. Both of which are absent in our Dollar/Yen/Yuan/Euro(etc) economies.

Look it up, it's more pertinent than you might think.

@9
It maybe the alpha or dominate hen that you are hearing. It is not uncommon when there isn't a rooster for the dominate hen to begin crowing. I don't think that It isn't as loud though. That said, sorry, a big fat No to roosters.

Roosters are so loud so early it's crazy. At least the one that used to be next door to where I used to live. Nothing is as annoying. Not a line, not leaf blowers every Saturday morning, not a 7AM construction site around the corner, not being under the flight path, not even a semi-frat house across the street...

Should be "not a bus line"

Please wait...
