Real men add extra iron and salt to their fake blood to go all the simulated way. Of course I have no idea how you would add the flavor of iron. Beets?
Logically, cgi blood helps with the speed of production. While it still has miles to go in being visually 'there' as a practical blood effect does, the speed and ease this can help within a daily shoot is a god send for production staff. But then you are someone who thinks Blackest Night was crap so I wouldn't expect you to think of this.
Yeah, the ratio of red-to-blue food coloring (sic) seems way off.
And there should be some dish washing liquid in there as well (unless you're planning to put it in someone's mouth), which helps to wash it all out at the end of the day.
Three drops of red food coloring sounds like way too little and 3 pints seems like way too much. Anyone have experience with this? I've actually been looking for a recipe for fake blood to use for a Halloween costume that requires about a gallon of fake blood.
