It's so fascinating how people that own and/or defend genetic mutant dogs suggest that we should "blame the owners"... Excellent idea, dorks... I would also encourage everybody to go around beating up these morons -- might be an even better way to deal with pit bulls.

Dogs are just dogs. And all dogs have bred in genetic tendancies. That's why border collies are used for geese chasing - they have genetics from sheep herding that make them not want to kill what they are herding/chasing. And why beagles follow their nose without having to be taught how. And why a pit bull that never acted aggressive before will suddenly want to fight to the death with the neighbor's dog. They have been bred to fight for no reason and with no warning signs. Doesn't matter who owns them or how they were trained, genetics does not change. Too bad the only people who don't understand this is the pit bull apologists, which are also the only people dumb enough to own these ticking time bombs.
