What on earth are you talking about? I've tried re-reading this post three times and the title, combined with the string of names I don't recognize, gives me zero context about what you're discussing. Is it music? Is it theater? is it films? I just don't know.

I suppose I could google some of those names to figure it out, but what's the point. I'm already confused, frustrated and bored.

Just sayin.

@1: It's theater. And it obviously took you longer to type that comment than it would've taken to type some words into a search engine.
3
That's kind of the malady of Broadway, too. Everything's a revival.

"Rapture of the Deep" may appeal to your search for something new and presumably worthy by Eric Lane Barnes, local Renaissance guy (well, he probably doesn't do oils).

@1. Fail. hard.

You read that three times and you were confused? What do you call reading? When I "read" I: Look at a series of written characters that represent language, comprehending their intended meaning. What do you do when you "read"? Stick your thumb up your ass and sneeze cheetos boogers? From the post:

(paragraph 1): "Strawberry Theater Workshop"

(paragraph 2): "Steven Dietz wrote another well-made play"

(paragraph 4): "a new play by Tommy Smith"
and
"discussing their idea of what new theater should look like is always an invigorating—and sometimes exasperating—exercise"

Yet you have NO idea if this was about theatre, music, or films. You are the reason we can not have nice things

It's the dog days of summer, what do you expect?
7
Seriously Brendan, at least it's not like the old days when every theatre except ACT, Annex and the outdoor Shakespeare troupes took July through early September off.

Besides, everybody knows summer is "rerun season" (well, okay, that was the Old Days too, but it still applies to network TV, so...)
8
No, Summer is when you do Shakespeare in the Park to get back to your theatre roots.

Isn't it?
9
@Brendan-- ever hear of the term "Summer Stock?" New stuff comes out in the fall or later. And stuff that's nearly 20 years old is going to be brand new to nearly everybody.

If I imagine your post with an Andy Rooney voice, it's pretty funny. :)

@5: That is a fine bit of take-downery, but you forgot to point out to @1 that the subject heading on this post, right next to the headline, is "THEATER."
11
@5 Oh, you mean I should actually parse the words and phrases rather then just read each word individually?

My bad. Heh.

Please wait...
