This extremely ugly and chinless woman's obsession and paranoia over "traditional" marriage is certainly the result of some serious problem with her own marriage.

I'm thinking her husband is either in the closet, or he's cheating on her.

I really like both the minimalist, socratic approach on St. Peter’s part and the fact that Gallagher seemed to be passionately advocating her best arguments. It would be easy to put straw-man arguments in her mouth or to have St. Peter lecture her with our arguments, but this was was much better.

I can understand (but disagree) with people who simply oppose gay marriage, but I'm always fascinated by what motivates straight activists who want to devote their lives/careers to anti-gay issues. As an openly gay professional, I'm so busy with work, running errands, going to the gym, etc. that I'm lucky if I can devote an hour or two a day to thinking about anything gay (dating, watching porn, or whatever). But somewhere along the line Gallagher and others like her decided that they wanted to spend their whole working day fixated on gay stuff. Obviously some like Rekers are going to be closet cases, and others are demagogues in it for the money, but for the rest, I always wonder what turns their position from mild opposition from someone with better things to worry about into a all-consuming crusade.

Gallagher may be a true believer, but you can bet she's making bank being an anti-gay crusader.

Christian scripture says when believers die they are "absent from the body and in the presence of the Lord". Maggie should be stoked to die but they all keep hanging on.

@4 has it - odds are she gets paid by a think tank or the Koch brothers to campaign agin teh gays.

I don't think Maggie is gonna like heaven...

She's the pope's mouth piece.
