Give the budget axing job to Brendan! He'd eliminate funding to union shops and call it done...

The City budget is ugly, but let's not write a script for ourselves that's overly negative. The Mayor does understand the value of the arts (as demonstrated during his speech at last Friday's awards ceremony). & there are incredibly talented arts administrators both locally and throughout the US who would jump at this opportunity. Seattle has been a national leader in getting artists engaged in civic discussions, and I think that maintaining a voice for arts and culture on the Mayor's cabinet is vital.
